Here’s a wrap-up with many more ladies from the red carpet wearing their Hollywood best.
Lily Rabe: The “American Horror Story” star stunned on the Golden Globes red carpet in her Georges Hobeika Signature Spring 2014 black beaded cap sleeve ball gown. I liked the nude lining of this dress, because it allowed for the dazzling bursts of beaded accents to really shine. Lily accessorized with Jerome C. Rousseau heels, a Lyle Alexandra clutch, and Lorraine Schwartz statement jewels.
Jacqueline Bisset: The Globe winner for “Dancing on the Edge” celebrated her big night in a elegant off-the-shoulder black tulle gown with heavy gold leaf embroidered accents at the bodice, which featured scattered detail going down the skirt that gave the illusion of falling. I like how well her earrings matched the embellishments.
Emma Thompson: The “Saving Mr. Banks” actress stood out on the red carpet in her bold vintage dress. Emma selected a design from Lanvin, which featured a gold embroidered high neck, long sleeve angled bodice that connected to a smooth ankle-length black skirt. I wish her shoes had been a bit more fancy since they were put on display, but Emma opted for open toe classic black Christian Louboutin pumps.
Dianne Wiest: She attended in support of Woody Allen, and his honor of receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award, but Dianne shined all on her own in a black art deco sequined gown with ruffle detail from Memeka by Gustavo Cadile. The fit was a big awkward at the neckline, but it’s a pretty dress. She accessorized with gold jewelry and open toe black sandals.
Megan Mullally: I had to do a double take when I saw pictures of Megan at the Globes. I can’t say I’m crazy about her off-the-shoulder gown with puffed up bell sleeves, but I loved how she kept it quirky by partnering it with bold earrings, her dark red sleek bob and oversize cat-eye framed glasses. She had fun, and you can tell.
Mayim Bialik: This is the best look I’ve probably ever seen from “The Big Bang Theory” actress. Mayim looked lovely in a custom black cloquè mermaid evening gown with fishnet neckline and sleeves from David Meister Signature. She enhanced the look further with beautiful cascading curls, onyx jewelry, a black Swarovski “Nirvana” clutch, and a coordinating manicure.
Laura Carmichael: It may appear simple, but the “Downton Abbey” star actually wore one of my favorite dresses of the night. I adore her scoop bustier white Viktor & Rolf dress with black striped paneling at the side. The design is anything but boring, and the fit was impeccable on Laura. Pin-straight tresses, smoky eyes, Chanel Fine Jewelry, Jerome C. Rousseau black bow-accented heels, and a gorgeous deco Judith Leiber crystal clutch completed her look.
Diane Keaton: I wasn’t surprised to see Diane in her signature look of a sleek suit paired with a large tie. She always looks good, and this year’s Golden Globes wasn’t any exception. I’m also digging her layered haircut.
Aubrey Anderson-Emmons: The cute-as-a-button “Modern Family” star looked adorably chic in her pale pink Tea Collection sleeveless drop-waist dress, which featured black gemstone accents at the neckline. The detailing was properly highlighted with black opaque tights and shiny Mary-Jane flats.
Kristen Connolly: The “House of Cards” arrived to the ceremony in a lightweight crossover draped gown from Lorena Sarbu, which included a lace-trimmed bust. I like the way it flowed around her and showed off dainty black sandals. I just felt like there was too much of a bare area at the neckline that, perhaps, she should have worn her hair down.
June Squibb: I just can’t get over how cute June looked on the red carpet—she was also one of the best dressed stars of the night, I think. The “Nebraska” nominee wore a customized Tadashi Shoji carmine velvet long sleeve gown with beaded inset and a striking draped blouson back, which comes from the Fall 2013 Collection by the designer. Red accessories–including an insanely gorgeous Oroton autumn crystal “Icon” mini clutch completed her look.
Edie Falco: I usually like what Edie wears on the red carpet, but the fit of her Lanvin satin gown was way off. The oversize bow neckline was supposed to be the focal point, but it’s everything else that got my attention because it didn’t seem to properly fit her. Nude pumps and diamond jewelry completed her look.
Melissa Rauch: The “Big Bang Theory” actress wore a gorgeous vibrant yellow chiffon off-the-shoulder Romona Keveza evening gown, which featured a draped sweetheart neckline and couture draped slim skirt. Melissa accessorized with Stuart Weitzman blush “Victoria” pumps, an Amanda Pearl clutch, and jewelry from Demarco and Doves by Doron Paloma.
Rebecca Ferguson: The “White Queen” actress provided some much needed green when she arrived to the ceremony in a regal dark Fadi el Khoury emerald ball gown enriched with a navy tulle overlay that was embroidered with deep blue floral appliqués scattered about. A swept up-do and Cornelia Webb jewelry completed her look.
Janet McTeer: Rebecca’s co-star, who was nominated for her role on “The White Queen”, stunned in a Memeka by Gustavo Cadile beaded tulle side draped teal gown. She accessorized the look with a Swarovski crystal and leather “Nirvana Star” clutch.
Nancy O’Dell: The “Access Hollywood” correspondent looked beautiful, as per usual, in her royal blue cap sleeve Notte by Marchesa mermaid gown with an embroidered drop neckline and full back. Navy wore her golden long tresses in smooth waves, which showed off her diamonad-and-sapphire XIV Karats statement earrings.
Shaun Robinson: The “Access Hollywood” correspondent has a knack for picking out dresses that are absolutely perfect for her. I loved her blue-violet strapless gown with black and silver beaded trim. The high slit in the skirt provided us with a view of her Jimmy Choo sandals which perfectly coordinated with the colors of her dress detailing–as did those statement earrings!
Stephanie Beatriz: The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star looked radiant with her long dark hair falling in full curls around her shoulders as she stood tall in her curve-hugging David Meister gown. Stephanie selected the designer’s brilliant blue strapless evening gown. The only qualm I have with this look is that I think the bust needed to be brought up a bit for extra support and a flawless appearance.
Giuliana Rancic: The “E! Fashion Police” correspondent wore a pretty berry sleeveless gown by Lorena Sarbu. I felt like the dress overpowered her a bit, but I really like the twisted floral beading that covered the bust and floated out to the hips. A Rauwolf clutch, Forevermark jewels and Christian Louboutin shoes completed her look.
Catt Sadler: The E! correspondent dazzled in a custom-made Paolo Sebastian cream gown enriched with lace, pearl and beaded panels at the skirt, train, sleeves, and bodice. She wore her hair up in a pony tail with a stray swept piece out in front. I like the detailing, but I think from far away–and with a photo, you can lose the appreciation for it because you can’t see the embellishments too well. Lavender eyeshadow and jewelry from Stephen Webster completed her look.
Madison Walls: The rising model-turned-actress wore a very pretty Sherri Hill slinky v-neck nude gown enriched with ice blue beaded embellishments in a ornate pattern. Classic Old Hollywood-inspired curls, flattering makeup, and stacked diamond jewels completed her look.
Sally Hawkins: The “Blue Jasmine” actress opted for vintage at the Globes this year. Sally wore a pale blush gown by Dior with a full floral, beautifully, embroidered caraco. Complimenting makeup and a partially gathered up-do of springing curls provided the finishing touches.
Gabourey Sidibe: The “American Horror Story: Coven” actress looked pretty in a custom ivory made Daniel Musto x Michael Costello gown, which featured a sparkling accent at the gathered empire bust. I like the red–but, I would’ve liked it more in a rich garnet color. Gabbie finished with Neil Lane jewels, a Deepa Gurnani clutch, Barefoot Tess champagne pumps, and Jewelry by Gail hair accents from Marilyn Monroe’s personal collection.
Laura Dern: The “Enlightened” star wore one of my favorite dresses of the night. I completely adored her beige Roberto Cavalli v-neck slim fitting gown that was completely embellished with metallic studs. A shimmery built-in gold belt helped finish off the look that she completed with gorgeous bouncy curls, Rupert Sanderson heels, jewelry from Ivy and Graziela Gems, and a dark manicure.
Melissa Fumero: The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actress joined her costars at the Globes this year in a glittering Randi Rahm beaded “Sylvia” halter gown in blush ice with swirls of antique gold. Melissa styled her chocolate curls in a elegant up-do before finishing with bronze and accessories.
